Trade Nation Western Cape, South Africa Hybrid

Recruitment and Onboarding at Trade Nation

About the job

The Company

Trade Nation is a fast-growing yet established Forex, CFD spread betting provider that is working hard to build the right culture for growth and sustainability with our customers and our people at its heart.

Trade Nation began life back in 2014. Building on our award-winning reputation for our market-leading low-cost trading service, we’ve grown from a team of 10 dedicated staff to over 120 employees today. We are a global company with teams in the UK, Australia, South Africa, Seychelles, Malaysia and The Bahamas with our head office being in London.

We believe that our customers should have the best chance to beat the markets and therefore, we are committed to ensuring that we have the lowest trading costs in the market and our team help us achieve that by helping keep our costs down and using technology to drive efficiency.

The Role

We are seeking a driven and experienced Content Strategist and Copywriter to fuel our reach, engagement, and acquisition through compelling content. Reporting to the Head of Brand, Content, and Partnerships and collaborating with internal and external partners, you will be instrumental in developing and executing content strategies across various channels and jurisdictions.

This role will focus heavily on our website, performance-based activities (landing pages, display ads), brand campaigns, CRM and Affiliates. Whilst collaboration with social media is natural, this work stream is separate and not within the remit of this role, though you will be expected to provide a supporting function from time to time.

About You

We don’t want to be too prescriptive about what we need from you as we recognise that we are all different and see that uniqueness as an opportunity and a crucial part of building a great culture. But we are looking for a certain type of person and we think the statements below will give you a good idea of who we are. If they excite you then we'd love to talk.

Problem-Solving - as a wise person once said "Complaining about a problem and not providing a solution is called whining". Problems are there to be solved and we're looking for super bright curious minds who enjoy a challenge.

Be a doer - we're on a mission at Trade Nation and are looking for talented people who can help us get ahead of the pack. You'll need to be prepared to roll your sleeves up and get stuck in. Sometimes you'll find yourself doing stuff that’s not necessarily in your job description but we'd never ask you to do something we wouldn’t do ourselves. We believe that everyone should be willing to "muck in" so if you are focused on only working in your own lane this might not be the place for you.

Make mistakes and learn from them - as Einstein once said "Anyone who has never made a mistake has never tried anything new". We're focused on developing a high-performing team that tries new ideas to solve old problems.

What you will be doing:

  • Gain insights into industry trends, target audience preferences, and competitors' content strategies.
  • Develop engaging and persuasive website copy, ensuring a seamless user experience.
  • Work closely with our in-house Marketing Analyst and Content Writers to ensure seamless execution of strategies.
  • Craft compelling key messaging that aligns with our brand's tone of voice and audience needs.
  • Create, execute, and test content funnels to attract, engage, and convert audiences.
  • Collaborate closely with designers to enhance the visual elements and overall contextual effectiveness of the content.
  • Ensure all content adheres to brand guidelines, voice, and tone across all channels of responsibility.
  • Create persuasive copy for performance-based activities (landing pages, display ads) to maximize conversion rates and ROI.
  • Conduct A/B and MVT testing on copy and content elements in collaboration with the Performance team to drive continuous improvement.
  • Work with the SEO Managers and writers to optimize content for search engines.
  • Stay updated with industry trends and best practices in content strategy and copywriting.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance the effectiveness of content marketing efforts continuously.
  • Collaborate with CRM to optimize content and life cycle stage engagement.
  • Utilize customer feedback and insights to tailor content to their needs and preferences.
  • Craft promotional materials like brochures, flyers, digital ads etc. when required.
  • Work collaboratively within the team to create and deliver compelling campaigns.
  • Become effective at using our website CMS, Prismic

Basic Qualifications:

  • Experience in using content to achieve commercial objectives (5 years +).
  • Experience in crafting compelling copy for website content, landing pages, brochures, flyers and display ads (5 years +).
  • Experience in creating effective content strategies and funnels targeting diverse audiences (5 years +).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Interest in understanding the drivers of differences in global content consumption.
  • Familiarity with CRM campaigns and life-cycle content strategies.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills with a keen eye for detail.
  • Ability to derive actionable insights from shared data and analytics.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Creativity, innovation, and a forward-thinking approach to industry
  • Adaptability to fast-paced work environments with concurrent projects, including last-minute changes.
  • Strong verbal reasoning skills and the confidence to build tenacious relationships.
  • An optimistic and can-do attitude both when working independently and as part of a team.
